Photo Editor: Blur Personal Info in Screenshots, Add Arrows & Text

Updated · Free · No sign-up · Runs in your browser

Before you share a screenshot, cover what other people should not see — names, phone numbers, email addresses, order numbers, account details — and point out the part that matters with an arrow or a short note.

Open a screenshot or photo, drag over an area to blur or black it out, add arrows and text, crop away the rest, and download a new PNG or JPG. The image stays in this browser and is not uploaded.

Your image is never uploaded. It is opened and edited only in this browser on your device and is not stored anywhere. Close the page and it is gone.

JPG, PNG or WebP up to 30MB. Your image is not uploaded. You can also drop it here.

Worked examples

  1. Order confirmation screenshot

    • Black box over the address and phone number
    • Crop to the order summary

→ share the order without personal details

  2. Support request

    • Arrow to the error message
    • Text: "This button does nothing"

→ the support team sees the problem at a glance

  3. Group chat screenshot

    • Blur the other people’s names and profile photos

→ the message is readable, the people are not

  4. Selling a used phone

    • Black box over the IMEI and serial number on the settings screen
    • Arrow to the scratch on the photo

→ buyers see the condition, not the identifiers

How to hide personal information in a screenshot

  1. Choose your screenshot or photo (or drop it on the box).
  2. Pick Black box for numbers and codes, or Blur (pixelate) for faces and names, then drag over the area.
  3. Add an Arrow or Text if you need to point something out. For text, type it first, then tap the image where it should go.
  4. Crop to the part you want to share, check the result, and download PNG (sharp text) or JPG (smaller photo).

Blur is not the same as covering

Pixelation lowers the detail of an area, but short text such as numbers can sometimes still be guessed from the blocks, especially when the blocks are small. For anything that must stay secret, use the Black box, which replaces the pixels with solid black.

The download is a brand-new flat image made from the canvas, so what you covered is not kept underneath in another layer, and the original photo’s EXIF data (location, camera model, date) is not copied into it. Your original file is not changed.

Frequently asked questions

Is my screenshot uploaded to a server?

No. The image is opened, edited and saved inside this browser. Its contents and file name are not sent anywhere or stored.

Should I blur or black out a phone number?

Black it out. Blur (pixelation) can leave short numbers partly guessable, while the Black box replaces the area with solid black.

Can someone undo the blur on my downloaded image?

There is no hidden layer to remove: the download is a flat image with the covered pixels replaced. Heavily pixelated short text can still sometimes be guessed, which is why the Black box is the better choice for numbers and codes.

How do I add an arrow or text?

Choose Arrow and drag from where it starts to where it should point. For text, choose Text, type the words in the box, then tap the image where they should go. Undo removes the last step.

Does it remove location data from photos?

Yes. The saved PNG or JPG is drawn from the canvas, so GPS location, camera model and other EXIF data from the original are not included.

Why did my large photo get smaller?

To save memory on phones, images with a side longer than 2,400 pixels are scaled down to 2,400 pixels before editing. Files up to 30MB can be opened; iPhone HEIC photos may need to be exported as JPG first.
